Two particular items are an article which has appeared in the Blower on wheel profiles and dimensions for engines and carriages, and an article on preferred couplings for use on the site.
Following a number of serious incidents where locomotive couplings parted the Committee wish to see a move to a standard coupling design for use on the track by all members of the Society. This will also be drawn to the attention of visiting societies for their consideration.
The Society is also in the process of building two carriages for children to a safer design and developing a bogie design. The Society also want to see a move to braked carriages for all club stock as a safety measure.
The following information is an article by Dennis Monk written for the Blower some years ago. It sets out the recommended wheel dimensions and profiles for running on our track.
